Vehicle age and share of NO emissions from light-duty vehicles in the United States
Remote sensing of motor vehicles can be used to monitor the emissions of in-use cars and trucks. To complement its work on real-world emissions in Europe, the TRUE Initiative has compiled remote sensing data from the states of Colorado and Virginia and the University of Denver to create a database of over 50 million U.S. remote sensing measurements. Initial analysis of the dataset is providing insight into the U.S. vehicle fleet and its evolution from 2010 to 2018.
